Apply before Dec. 23 and save on filing fees

It's about to get more expensive to submit some common immigration applications.

The government announced that filing fees for 48 forms are going up by an average of 21 percent.

The rate hikes take effect on December 23rd, 2016. Any applications submitted on or after that date won't be accepted unless they're sent with the more expensive filing fee.

If you're considering submitting one of the affected applications, we recommend you get started as soon as possible. It can take a few weeks to gather required documents and prepare your petition, and applications must be postmarked before Dec. 23 in order to get the cheaper rates.

Here's a list of the petitions we commonly handle that are being affected by the fee increase.

We will make every effort to work with you to get your application submitted before the fee increase takes effect, but some applications (such as the one for the I-601A waiver) require you to already have an I-130 or other petition on file.

Call us today to figure out what immigration benefit you need and how you can apply for it before the rates go up. (We're offering end of the year deals on legal fees, too, so you may be able to save big on your immigration case if you start now!)
