A broadly experienced bilingual lawyer, Mark W. Applegate is one of the pioneers in offering legal services to the Spanish speaking community in Indianapolis. Mr. Applegate has over ten years of experience in representing immigrants and the foreign born concerning a variety of legal issues such as access to the courts, business matters, family law, worker’s compensation, and personal injury accidents.
Mr. Applegate has lived and worked abroad in Spain and Mexico and is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Portuguese. Mr. Applegate worked for the law firm of Noriega & Escobedo in 1992 in Mexico City, and he is currently of counsel with the law firm of Broyles Kight & Ricafort, LLP. Mr. Applegate worked as Corporate Legal Counsel for Latin American Affairs for Thomson Consumer Electronics, Inc. (RCA) in Indianapolis from 1999 to 2001 during which he traveled frequently to Thompson’s sales office in Mexico City, and maquiladora plants in Juarez, Mexico. Mr. Applegate brings his extensive knowledge and unique perspective to representing the foreign born in Indianapolis.
Mr. Applegate has been very active in the Hispanic community in Indianapolis dedicating his time as a board member and volunteer to such civic organizations as the Hispanic Center, Fiesta Indianapolis, Inc., Hispanic Education Center, Hispanic-Latino Minority Health Coalition, and the Indiana Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Applegate graduated from the Indiana School of Law in 1993 is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association.
